New Faces in 2006

Many new faces are on the 2006 Red Sox.

After Johnny Damon signed a four year deal with the New York Yankees, the Red Sox worked a deal with Cleveland to land center fielder Coco Crisp

The Red Sox traded backup catcher Doug Mirabelli for Mark Loretta. They later traded backup catcher Josh Bard and cash to get back Mirabelli from San Diego

The Red Sox believed that they had more than enough starting pitching so they sent Bronson Arroyo to the Reds for Willy Mo Pena. Arroyo is having a career year in Cinci, while Pena was putting up solid numbers before getting hurt.

Mike Lowell was aquired along with Josh Beckett by the Sox for prospects Hanley Ramirez, Jesus Delgado, and Anibel Sanchez. Lowell has been putting up All Star Caliber numbers while with the Bosox.
